Ubisoft has revealed its post-launch content support of Assassin's Creed Valhalla will end next month on 6th December 2022 as it releases a final chapter designed to conclude the story of Eivor. Available to all players for free, it shall "tie up some of the storylines developed throughout the game and offer closure to your time among the Raven Clan".
Given the name The Last Chapter, it follows on from the Wrath of the Druids and The Siege of Paris DLCs, as well as the huge Dawn of Ragnarok expansion. Another smaller piece of content was made available for free that brought back Kassandra from Assassin's Creed Odyssey. This final DLC is expected to be similar in size to that, and to access it, you must do the following:
- Complete the main storyline by pledging to all territories of England
- Complete the mythical story arcs of Asgard and Jotunheim
- Upgrade your settlement to level 5 and construct the Jomsviking barracks
- Kill all targets of the Order of the Ancients and unveil its leader
Update 1.6.2 won't just contain The Last Chapter; it also includes the ability to keep Eivor's hood up at all times. "This new option will be added to the in-game options menu, giving you the chance to always keep your hood equipped, even when taking off Eivor’s cloak. This is purely cosmetic and will not impact gameplay or detection but will allow you to further customize your experience."
However, the patch will bring the game's seasonal festivals to a close. Instead of themed mini-games to complete, the rewards from every event will be available to buy with Silver at all vendors throughout the open world. Next month's update will also include some new rewards to unlock.
Ubisoft also provides an update on the potential of a New Game+ mode. Due to "the depth of the game", the company has "limited options to make replayability unique and rewarding". As such, New Game+ won't be patched into Assassin's Creed Valhalla. The next title in the series isn't too far away, though, with Assassin's Creed Mirage slated to release on PS5, PS4 next year. Beyond that is the Assassin's Creed Infinity platform with Assassin's Creed Codename Red and Assassin's Creed Codename Hexe already announced.

The lack of NG+ really annoys me.
It’ll be nice to have some actual closure. The game just sorta ends.
A simple NG+ is better than none…
And does anyone else feel like the game should be over by now? This has exploded into absolute nonesense at this point.
Right, so I've done all those required things, and then I just kind of stopped, so I've been waiting for this last chapter, as I wasn't bothered about the Odin DLC particularly
Time to set sail for North America (probably?)
Cool. Ubi gets it... If making extra content on a "story driven" single player game, make extra content driven by "A Story"
Not this complicated.
Some make these garbage "DLC Waves" that are swimsuits skins, item packs , mindless challenges mode... and then 1 extra story content at the very end.
Welp, I liked Valhalla a lot but the fact that the base game didn't have a proper ending did kinda piss me off, not gonna lie.
Very much looking forward to this! Hopefully Mirage will get some gameplay at the Game Awards.
I’m glad there’s no new game +. I started it on the ps4 played about 25 hours then got a ps5 and continued my save. I got the platinum and some dlc complete. Since went back to my ps4 save after the ps5 platinum. I like the game but don’t want another 100 + play through. Doesn’t appeal to me with so many game releasing and games in the backlog.
This was a good game. Gave everyone the opportunity to go deep with it. Glad they’re finally offering some sort of ending. Personally I didn’t make it through all the DLC, but I will one day.
It's just going to be filler grindy DLC, there is no reason for me to ever go back to the game again, I've had my fill thanks
@TribalRivals agreed, who is going to play this game again when it's 300 hours? It's pointless having new game plus
Finally a proper date for the final story DLC, thanks for sharing!
So they never got around to adding the tourism mode thing they had in Origin and Odyssey?
@Matroska it was added October last year...
Is this a game that people are clamoring for NG+? I spent over 200 hours on this game over a course of 3 months. Have no desire to replay, honestly, this game was my least favorite AC game.
NG+ really? I couldn't even get past halfway in this game, it's SOOOO BOOOORRRRRIIIINNNNNGGGG!
Talk to someone, go do a fetch/story line task, save the day/solve the puzzles. Oh, now you got a territory. Rinse/repeat the ENTIRE game....DULL CRUD!
Oh, and don't even get me started. Rarely could you ASSASSINATE anybody in the game....
This is a HACK n SLASH Viking Game SPORTING the AC Logo....
Junk IMO...
Hope AC Mirage & Red ACTUALLY get back to the fundamentals of what AC should be...
